William Godwin (3 March 1756 – 7 April 1836) was an English journalist, political philosopher and novelist. Henry Colburn was a British bookseller and publisher, known for his assertive marketing practices; he issued works by William Godwin, Mary Shelley, and Benjamin Disraeli, among others.
